Student Council at PS 277 is a group of elected and volunteer students who work alongside our guidance counselor, Ms. Rosario, to strengthen student voice and support schoolwide initiatives. Guided by shared values and leadership principles, Student Council members help plan and support events such as bake sales and community potlucks, serve as members of the MSBK, and partner with staff to build a positive school culture. Student Council students also take on meaningful leadership roles beyond the classroom by educating families during Educational Walks in the neighborhood, including community events such as the Cancer Awareness Walk. In addition, the council supports mediation and restorative practices and is launching a Peacemaker Program to promote conflict resolution and empathy among peers.
